Accepting
online payments by credit card
To
be able to accept online payments by credit card you need:
a) A Credit
Card Merchant Account
b) A Paypal Account
Our Standard
and Domain Name websites use Paypal.
Our Domain Name Merchant Account uses a Credit Card Merchant Account.

Counters
We can add a counter to
your homepage, no charge. To order a counter, write "Add counter"
in the "comments" box of the website order form. |

Credit
Card Merchant Accounts
A
Credit Card Merchant Account enables you accept online payments by credit
card on your Vitamin Power Dealer website. It also enables you to process
credit card charges accepted by phone, by mail or any other way you do
business.
All major retailers
process credit card charges using a Credit Card Merchant Account. It is
the simplest and easiest method for the customer to understand and use.
Credit card
charges can also be processed using Paypal.
Running costs for a
Paypal account are less, but for your customers making payments with Paypal
involves a little additional work compared to making payments using a
Merchant Account.

Internet, they will know the type of account you need.
Please note: You do not need to purchase your Credit Card Merchant Account
from E-Commerce Exchange. However they have setup Merchant Accounts for
many Vitamin Power Dealers and know exactly what you require.

Credit
Card Processing - Manual or Real Time
MANUAL PROCESSING
When a customer presses the "submit secure order" button, all
info is encrypted and sent to our server. The order is then emailed to an
address of your choice. You must then process the credit card details manually
through your merchant account by typing the credit card details into:
a) a merchant account terminal or
b) a merchant account webpage set up by your merchant account company.
This is the same type of processing you would use to process an order you
received by phone, fax, or mail.
REAL TIME PROCESSING
When a customer presses the "submit secure order" button, the
credit card info is encrypted and sent to your credit card merchant account
company. If the credit charge is declined, the customer is informed and
asked to submit another form of payment.
If the charge is accepted, your bank account is automatically credited and
both you and your customer are sent an email letting you know the charge
was accepted.
Separately the order (without the credit card info) is emailed to an address
of your choice.

Domain
Names
Domain
Name, and Domain Name Merchant Account websites come with their own domain
name inluded in the price. Vanguard
will check the availability of the domain name of your choice and register
it on your behalf. You will be registered as the owner of the domain name. |

Names - can I use the one I already have
We
can build your Vitamin Power Dealer website using a domain name you already
own.
We will arrange transfer of your existing domain name to our servers. |

Domain
Names - checking
availability
You
can check the availability of the domain name at http://whois.pairnic.com/
Alternatively Vanguard will check the availability of the domain name
of your choice when you order your website. If it is available we will register
it for you. If it is not available we will send you an email asking you
to choose another name. |

Email
address
For websites
with their own domain name, Vanguard
can provide a free email box if required.
Your email address will be of the form somename@yourdomamain.com
Please note: your free email box must be ordered at the same time as your
website, otherwise our $20 setup charge applies.

Homepage
- Your personal message
You
can put any message you want on your homepage. We suggest it be short as
customers do not want to read very much.. We will automatically add your
contact and ordering information to your homepage. |

Links
to and from other websites
You
can link your Vitamin Power Dealer website to and from other websites.
Suppose you already have a website mywebsite.com. Then you buy a Vitamin
Power Dealer website myvpwebsite.com. We can put a link on your homepage
at myvpwebsite.com which connects to mywebsite.com.
At the other end, whoever built your website mywebsite.com can put links
to my-vp-website.com.
We will add one link/banner for free. Thereafter each time we are asked
to add links/banners we charge $25. You can request up to 5 banners/links
at one time.
To add a link
please email:
1) Target URL (the web address you want to link to)
2) Link text (what the link will say, for example "click here for ...."
or banner image as a .jpg or .gif email attachment or
URL reference to an image (for example: www.somedomain.com/myimage.gif) |

Logos
on your homepage
We
will design a logo for your website. It will use the name you provide and
will look the same as the logos on our sample websites.
If you have designed your own logo or had somebody design it for you we
can add it to your site. Our charge for this service $25. Logo must be 758
pixels wide or less, height is flexible but 80-100 pixels is a good guide.

Making
changes to your website
Minor changes such as
address, phone, email, shipping costs, discount, are free. Please email
all requests for changes to info@vpwebsite.com.
Changes are normally completed within one business day from receipt. For
major changes we charge a flat $25 fee. |

Paying
for your website
Online you
can pay for your website using either a credit card (Visa, Mastercard,
Amex) or with a checking account.
If you are sending an order by mail you can pay with a check or money
order. Please make your check or money order payable to Vanguard Internet.

Paypal
A
Paypal account enables you accept online payments by credit card. Paypal
can be used with our Standard & Domain Name websites. Setting up a
Paypal account is free and there are no running costs if you do
not process any charges. Sign up at www.paypal.com.
On the downside however it takes one or two more steps for your customers
to pay using Paypal than to pay using a Credit
Card Merchant Account.
Transaction fees for both types of account are approximately the same.
If
you decide to signup with Paypal:
a) If
you want to accept payments using a business name, get
a "Business Account".
b) If
you want to accept payments in your own name, get
a
Personal -> Premier account.
When you order your website we ask you for your Paypal account information
(the email address you used to sign up with Paypal), this will enable
us to link your website to Paypal and activate online ordering by credit
card.
Here's
How Paypal Works:
1) After filling the shopping cart, and providing their name and address,
the customer clicks the "Submit Order" button.
2) Clicking the "Submit Order" button does 3 things:
a) It emails a copy of the order to you, the Dealer, at your email
address
b) It emails a copy of the order to the customer at their email address
c) The customer is then taken to the Paypal website where they will be
asked to make payment. Paypal will send payment confirmations to you and
your customer.
All of the above is explained to the customer when they click the "How
to Order" button on your website.

Phone
numbers
You can put your phone,
fax, 800 number in your "contact / ordering information" box at
the foot of the page. However if you prefer not to receive phone calls or
faxes then you can leave them out. |

Pictures
on your homepage
You
can put your picture on your homepage. Send us a photo (prints only, a head
or head and shoulders shot is best).Our charge for this service $25. See

Price
and product changes - Updates
When Vitamin
Power adds new products, discontinues products or makes price changes your
Dealer website is automatically updated free of charge. |
|
Promoting
your website
You
can include your website address in ads, flyers, promotional materials,
yellow pages listings, business cards, letterheads, answering machine messages,
media reviews - anywhere you get exposure.
For example - you can include your website address in classified ads and
on business cards. Both are inexpensive ways to give potential customers
immediate access to a full-color showcase of the complete Vitamin Power
product range. Customers can access this information anywhere, day or night. |

Registering
your site with search engines
Vanguard's service
does not include registering your website with Search Engines and Directories.
However you can register your website yourself for free. Try the site listed

Renewing
your website
Starting
about 6 weeks before your yearly website contract is about to expire, Vanguard
will send you a renewal notices by email. The emails will provide instructions
on how to renew your website. |

Setup
- How long does it take
Standard websites:
From receipt of payment it normally takes 3 business days to setup your
website.
Domain Name websites and Domain Name Merchant Account website:
From receipt of payment it normally takes 3-5 business days to setup your
website. It takes longer because we have to register your domain name. |

Spam
(Unsolicited Bulk Email)!
Any Dealer who indulges in spamming (the sending of Unsolicited Bulk
Email, UBE) will have their website contract terminated immediately and
their website taken down. No excuses will be accepted, there will be no
second chances, and there will be no refunds of money paid.
The posting of commercial messages to non-commercial sites or newsgroups
is also expressly forbidden and Dealers will be subject to the same
sanctions, namely there website will be closed down immediately, no excuses,
no refunds.
We are sorry to have to issue this warning, but hope you will understand
it is necessary to protect the interests of ALL Vitamin Power Dealers. |

Upgrading
your website
You
can upgrade your website at any time. The cost of the upgrade is the difference
between the cost of the site you have and the cost of the site you want
to upgrade to. |

The
address for your Vitamin Power website can take two forms |

website
Your website address will be of the form: www.vitpower.com/yourname
Where "yourname" can be "johnsmith", "jsmith",
smithvitamins" or whatever you choose. |
